It’s difficult to trump the view of the Dubai Fountain from the many Souk Al Bahar restaurants that overlook it, yet the food at Mango Tree manages exactly that. Of course, if you want a table with a view you’ll have to book well in advance. But even if you don’t manage to bag a spot on the terrace, who cares when the food is this good? The mixed platter is the obvious choice if you can’t decide between feather-light battered shrimp, piquant satay, tropical papaya salad or juicy fishcakes. Darkly delicious panangs and sweet coconut-laced yellow curries hit several spots, but less Thai-sounding dishes (including the succulent lamb chops) also induce swoons in even seasoned diners.
