From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010Recommended to us as a top place for takeaway, this eatery’s excellent service means it is also a strong choice for dining in – let down only by the lack of custom and thus slightly stoic atmosphere. Friendly waiters will guide you through the menu if required, although we, perhaps unsurprisingly, recommend the eponymous wonton soup starter, which is a wholesome meal unto itself, plus the dim sum selection and the Hakka noodles – a dish so plentiful it can easily keep you going for a week. Its location is both a bonus and a drawback: easy to find on Sheikh Zayed Road (you’ll recognise the huge soup-bowl sign) and a great place to watch the world go by; but it also means the flow of traffic outside is a bit of an eyesore. Indeed, excellent for takeaway, but if it’s a buzzing ambiance you’re after you might be left wonton more. Chortle.
