From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010This JBR-based Indian restaurant has a lot of nice tricks up its sleeve. It serves beautiful food in a gorgeous setting. Divided into different zones, there is a funky outside area with brightly coloured upturned umbrellas hanging from above, while inside there is a large, high-ceiling central area flanked by cosy banquettes. Even more private tables are subtly hidden behind a towering wall patterned in cool blue and gold, each in a mini-room of its own. The real wow factor, however, comes when you look up: giant feather fans swing mechanically from side to side and, while there is something slightly Jumanji-esque about them, they certainly provide a talking point. The waiters are fab, too: polite, knowledgeable and eager to assist. There is a lot of food on order, and the best way to sample a lot is with the tasting menu, which comes with decent lamb samosa and exquisitely tender butter chicken (if you so chose). Dhal bukhara (slow-cooked black lentils) is another pleaser. This is a rare find indeed.
