From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010Renowned celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s restaurant looks like it’s straight out of Footballers’ Wives – crystal chandeliers, drapes of red velvet, oversized gilt gold mirrors and lots of spangly accessories. Ostentatious, verging on tacky, but it makes an impact. Looking around, it’s clear that the restaurant is patronised mainly by Emirati and Indian diners – a telling sign of its quality. The friendly staff are keen to offer recommendations from the dynamic menu, there’s even a section on ‘Anglo’ Indian delights for homesick British expats. Sample the joys of the spinach kofta stuffed with malai paneer – finger licking good, and blow your taste buds away with the sumak and chickpea pulao rice with pomegranate, it really does taste as good as it looks. Overall, the standard of food is very good; dishes are diligently presented and bursting with colour. If you haven’t got the hint already, go and taste for yourself.
