From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010An Italian restaurant and a Thai-themed hotel may not sound like ideal bed fellows, but Pax serves up some pleasant surprises. Perched on the 24th floor of the Dusit Thani, floor-to-ceiling windows cast the mayhem of Sheikh Zayed Road in a favourable light, while elegant wall hangings section-off tables for privacy. Starters are perfectly pitched and beautifully presented – warm lobster salad with fresh beans and avocado, or tender veal in a tuna caper sauce. The pasta dishes are plain, but the secondi impress – lamb rack with Anna potatoes and eggplant caviar embody the same quality found in the starters. Service is well meaning but a little over-eager, but this is reasonably priced, solid Italian cooking.
