The seating spills out into the lobby area in this bright, spacious restaurant. It is an informal and comfortable venue with the said fountain contributing to ambience. There is a buffet on offer for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as the àla carte menu. The buffet was extensive, but lacked freshness and vitality, especially in the hot section where many dishes had clearly been sitting in their chafing dishes for some time. The desserts too, looked as though they had been out of the kitchen too long. The menu offered predominantly light choices including salads, starters, sandwiches, hot dishes and desserts. A huge basket of bread was accompanied by three flavoured butters which were sadly stale and rancid tasting on the day of our visit. The risotto was simply presented and looked attractive but was very stodgy and bland. Our waiter assured us that the marinated tuna in the baked potato would be fresh and not tinned. As we suspected, it was not fresh and he smiled broadly and agreed that it was tinned when we questioned him a second time. The service and the food need refining, but this is a lovely venue for an informal meal.
