From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2010Based around the concept of cooking with a Haandi – a traditional Indian clay cookery pot heated over coals – Wrap & Roll is sort of a high-end version of the numerous Pakistani and north Indian restaurants that overspill onto Mankhool Road and Kuwait Street. Starting out as a successful takeaway outlet, the establishment has since set up a sit-in restaurant, full of crisp white linens, concertina-pressed serviettes and enough bow-ties to make Charlie Chaplin jealous. Baked breads and kebabs are all well-spiced, but some seem to have spent too much time in the oven, and come out dry as a result. Still, you can’t fault the service, which is the height of attentiveness. If only the kitchen could get the timing right, then the place could become a very good Pakistani restaurant.
